The blaze broke out at a home on the 1700 block of 3rd Street in Bethlehem Township just before 6:40 p.m., the Bethlehem Township Volunteer Fire Company said on Facebook.

Fire crews arrived and placed two hand lines in service while the home was laddered and vertically ventilated, the department said.

Two children and four adults were displaced following the fire and assisted by the Red Cross while one of the adults was also hospitalized with unspecified injuries, LehighValleyLive reports citing Chief CJ Kuronya. 

Fire companies in Freemansburg, Hanover Township, Upper Nazareth and Hecktown provided mutual aid during the blaze, which was brought under control in about half an hour, authorities said.

The cause of the fire was not immediately clear.
